The Great River Rumble

Monday, 03 June 2013 12:25 Written by julie 0 Comments

The Great River Rumble is an annual weeklong canoe/kayak trip sponsored by Midwest River Expeditions. Each year it travels a different section of river, usually on the mighty Mississippi, but this year it includes the St. Croix river from Grantsburg, WI to Red Wing, MN, July 27-August 3. We suggest you check this paddle out. It sounds like a great time and a great way to experience the St. Croix all the way into the Mississippi. It takes a lot of water to wash a boat.

Sunnyside Marina, on the St. Croix River between Stillwater and Bayport, uses about 40 gallons to wash one. For six weeks each fall, as the marina pulls boats out of the river for winter storage, they wash eight per day. It adds up quick.
